MC2Charlotte: Motivating Children 2 Change = Energizing Families. Optimizing Greatness!

Welcome to my Blog.  I am a local pediatrician and mother of 3 kids.  My family and I immigrated from Romania in 1984. Through the immigration process and the steps needed to adjust to a whole new culture and a new way of life, I have been taught that change happens, change can be great, though hard, change can lead to amazing things. This mentality is prevalent everyday in my Pediatric Practice. I am not satisfied with just medications to address a problem.  The cause of illness is intriguing and disease prevention is paramount to a healthy and long life.  Through the basics of nutrition, sleep, and exercise, I plan to reach The Children and prepare them to help us change for the better.

Over the past two decades there has been a shift in the family dynamic.  Families used to be a parent led.  However, in current times, it is now a child centered and child led family unit.  Over the past several years we have given our children a voice, we have embraced their opinions, we have encouraged them to speak up.  In this transition of empowering children, parents have taken somewhat of a back seat to their children’s wishes and wants.  Thus, to continue on this empowerment journey, I strive to reach the kids and teach them responsibility for their bodies and wellbeing and subsequently improve the entire family’s health.

The youth of today is very knowledgeable, thirsty for information, and eager for change.

I want to capitalize on this.  My goal is to teach parents through this blog and kids through workshops at the schools, church groups, sports teams, girl and Boy Scouts groups on how to:
– Think before they eat.
– Think before they turn on the TV.
– Consider the hours draining away while playing on phones.
– Appreciate their bodies through exercise
– Respect their bodies through sleep,
– Hold us accountable for the choices we make.

Let’s help them be the Power of Change to Energize our Families.

  5. I love Mondays! I am always lacking inspiration for dinner, so have come to rely upon your quick, easy, healthy recipes to feed my family on Mondays. They are all winners, but our favourites include the recipe for tomato sauce (so much cheaper and healthier than store bought), and the Cowboy Burgers.
Thank you for being such an inspiration, we are huge MC2 fans!
